UO Day at the Capitol - in photos

Testimony from University of Oregon President Michael Gottfredson about the importance of current higher education governance legislation was one of several highlights at this year's UO Day at the Capitol - the university's every-other-year day of advocacy before the Oregon Legislature.

Max Siegel, the CEO of USA Track and Field, joined UO supporters in Salem to announce that the Olympic Track and Field Trials will be held at Hayward Field in 2016 -- the third-straight Trials to be held at the historic UO facility.

The Oregon House of Representatives unanimously approved two resolutions -- introduced by State Rep. and UO alum Phil Barnhart -- honoring Oregon Bach Festival founders Royce Salzman and Helmuth Rilling.

UO Day at the Capitol is intended to inform lawmakers and others about the university's accomplishments and reach. UO programs and the university’s service to the state were highlighted through displays in the Capitol Galleria, student performances in the House and Senate, and visits with legislators.
