Distinguished Service Award

Nominations will be accepted through March 15, 2012 for the 2012 Distinguished Service Award to be presented fall term. The award recognizes those “who by their knowledge and skills have made a significant contribution to the cultural and development of Oregon or society as a whole.”

Current members of the University of Oregon faculty, staff, and student body, the State Board of Higher Education and candidates for political office are not eligible for the award. Awards are not given posthumously. If you wish to have someone you have previously nominated considered, please resubmit the nomination since names are not carried over from year to year.

Please send nominations to Dave Hubin, chair of the Distinguished Service Award and Honorary Degree Committee at the Office of the President, 110 Johnson Hall or by email to dsaward@uoregon.edu.

Nominations materials should include the following:

• Name and contact information for the person submitting the nomination
• Name and contact information for the candidate
• Name and contact information for persons who can provide references for the candidate
• A biographical sketch of the candidate

Honorary Degrees

The Committee on Distinguished Service Awards and Honorary Degrees and the Office of the President also seek, on an ongoing basis, your suggestions for possible recipients of an honorary degree from the University of Oregon.  If you would like to nominate someone for an honorary degree, please contact Dave Hubin in the Office of the President.
