President Gottfredson sent the following email to faculty and officers of administration:
Dear Colleagues,
I am pleased to announce our plan to enact new and expanded benefits for unrepresented faculty members and officers of administration, effective July 1. These benefits include new paid family leave support and reduced tuition for a second child enrolled in a UO undergraduate program, as well as expanded sabbatical compensation for faculty. Represented faculty already enjoy these benefits under the collective bargaining agreement negotiated last fall. At that time, I announced the university’s intent to extend these benefits to unrepresented faculty and officers of administration. I am authorized to enact these benefits now, under the authority delegated to me by the Board of Trustees.
The draft policies can be view by clicking the links below:
We invite public comment on the plan to extend these benefits. Anyone who would like to provide input on these policies may do so on Tuesday, June 3 from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. at 203 Condon Hall, or by submitting written testimony to comments@uoregon.edu by Wednesday, June 4 at noon. This information is also posted on the Board of Trustees website and on AroundtheO.
Thank you for all that you do to make the University of Oregon a premier public research university and a wonderful place to work and learn.
Warm regards,
Michael Gottfredson
President
