The University of Oregon has completed a national search for a permanent vice president for student life. Angela Chong will serve as a member of the president's executive leadership team, and, as the vice president for student life, she will be responsible for leading the Division of Student Life, an organizational unit broadly responsible for the support of students at every juncture of their UO experience, from enrollment through graduation. 

 

Job summary

The Vice President for Student Life (VPSL) is responsible for leading the Division of Student Life, an organizational unit broadly responsible for supporting students throughout their UO experience. The vice president is responsible for four offices and six cross-divisional functional areas. Offices within the Division of Student Life include the Office of the Dean of Students; the Erb Memorial Union; the Department of Physical Education and Recreation; and the University Career Center. Functional areas include assessment and research, human resources, major student events, financial services, parent and family programs, and student government engagement and success. The vice president serves as the central administration’s liaison to the recognized student government, the Associated Students of the University of Oregon (ASUO). The division employs approximately 225 professional staff and approximately 600 student employees.
