Save the date: Meet finalists for vice president for student life

April 17, 2024

University of Oregon community members,

The University of Oregon’s search for a permanent vice president for student life will soon move into the finalist stage, and I invite you to save dates to meet the finalists during their campus visits the week of May 6.

The search committee received applications from a well-qualified pool of candidates for this key leadership position. We plan to invite up to four finalists to the Eugene campus to meet with the UO community as well as key stakeholders.

Faculty, staff, and students will be able to meet each finalist during a forty-five-minute open session, held both in person and on Zoom. The open sessions are tentatively scheduled for May 6, 7, 9, and 10. The specific times, locations, and Zoom links will be published on the Office of the President's Vice President for Student Life search webpage once finalized.

No RSVP is required. A member of the search committee will facilitate each session.

Three business days before their visit, each candidate’s curriculum vitae will be posted to a secure folder on the Office of the President's Vice President for Student Life search webpage that will require logging in via Shibboleth. We ask that you not disclose candidate names or information to anyone outside of campus in order to protect and respect our candidates’ privacy throughout the search.

If you attend a session, please remember that questions should be centered on the candidate’s interest in and qualifications for the role. Questions about a candidate’s race, ethnicity, marital status, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, and disabilities might be construed as discriminatory and should not be asked during the interview, whether formally or informally, as part of any follow-up discussion.

A feedback survey link will be posted on the first day of each candidate's visit with instructions and deadline for completion.

Please remember, the candidate visits are a recruiting opportunity and a chance for the finalists to learn about our university as much as they are an interview of the candidates.

Visit the Office of the President’s Vice President for Student Life search webpage for more information and additional details as the campus visits approach.

We appreciate your help in recruiting the next executive leader responsible for supporting programs and services that promote and advance student learning and success at the UO.
